TOB at FAC was special!

The http://fineartscenter.net/Fine Arts Center premier exhibition and screening of The Other Brother documentary was a memorable evening for the whole extended Flowers family and the Greenville community provided a receptive audience.

The response to the first-time showing of Tom and Jesse’s artwork and the screening of the documentary was heartwarming. There were close to 150 in attendance and many were Furman University colleagues and friends of Tom.

At the end of the screening, as Tom joined the Q&A, there was an immediate and complete standing ovation…a wonderful tribute to a long teaching and art career that is still going strong.

This was a culminating hometown experience for a project that has occupied Mark, Tom and I for the last several years.
We are grateful to all who made it possible.

A very special thank you goes to two art spirits, Matt and Cindy Palmer from Denver, Colorado who provided the support to prepare the exhibition for installation. It wouldn’t have happened without them.

.
Thank you also to the Fine Arts Center for hosting the event. They were early and enthusiastic supporters of the project. Roy Fluhrer, the Director, and Donna Shank-Major, faculty member, were both key to securing funding and planning the two-day event.
