10 new works on exhibit; @ the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon, NC.

Opening reception is on Saturday, February 1st from 5-8PM.

Previous to the reception @ 4PM, there will be an informal “Walk and Talk” session where you can ask us about our work.

My paintings will be on display along prints by Andrew Blanchard from Spartanburg, SC. Exhibition ends on March 15.

Artists’ Gallery Talk: Saturday, Feb. 1, 4 – 5 pmMark Flowers uses images combined with sculptural shapes to clarify his relationship with the world. Repeated symbols form a visual vocabulary to create a narrative composed of insights and reflections of his experiences. He states, “In seeking meaning in the world, I am sharing my story in hopes of making connections with the viewer. Currently I am exploring the use of faces, figures and objects to create a more visual story.”Mark Flowers has an MFA from Western Michigan University and currently works out of his studio, Mountain Tea Studios, in Alexander, NC.
